About us

Restoration Wellness Group began as a dream rooted in my mother’s journey, an African American woman diagnosed with a mental health disorder at 33. In a society where mental illness was rarely discussed, especially in communities of color, my family carried the weight of stigma and trauma in silence. By age 12, I dreamed of becoming a psychologist, driven to understand and heal the pain I witnessed. Although I didn’t follow that exact path, I found my calling as a social worker, inspired by my mother’s compassion and dedication. She worked tirelessly as a social worker in Denver’s housing projects, showing me that true healing embraces the whole person, their struggles, and their story.
Restoration Wellness Group is a tribute to her legacy. After leaving my corporate career, I was determined to create a space where healing is accessible, compassionate, and culturally affirming for those who need it most. Our mission is to guide clients on their journey to recovery, honoring my mother’s influence and the dream she sparked in me. We aim to create new beginnings, foster resilience, and empower individuals and families to heal together.
What sets us apart is that Restoration Wellness Group is not just a mental health agency—we are a organization deeply committed to healing and empowering individuals and families. With a foundation in lived experience and cultural understanding, we offer care that is compassionate, and culturally responsive. We understand the unique challenges our clients face, including generational trauma, systemic barriers, and social inequities. At Restoration Wellness Group, we don’t just support—we advocate for change, walking alongside our clients every step of the way.
As a Licensed Independent Social Worker and Substance Use Disorder Trainee with over 20 years of experience in diverse settings, I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals and families move toward healing. Currently, as a professor at the University of Washington School of Social Work, I share my experiences with emerging professionals, emphasizing the empathy and adaptability needed to make a lasting impact. My journey, shaped by my mother’s influence, is all about meeting clients where they are, supporting them holistically as they navigate the complexities of mental health and substance use.

At Restoration Wellness Group, we honor your story and walk with you through your journey.
Creating a healing space designed with you in mind.
