Deidre Smith, SUDPT
Substance Use Disorder Counselor | Advocate for Holistic Healing

Deidre Smith is a passionate and dedicated Substance Use Disorder (SUD) counselor with over five years of experience supporting individuals on their journey to recovery. She holds an Associate’s degree in Addiction Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Child, Youth, and Family Services. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Licensed Mental Health Therapy, which she is on track to complete by the end of the year.

Deidre’s therapeutic approach is rooted in humanistic values, focusing on the inherent strengths, resilience, and dignity of each person. She creates a safe and supportive space where individuals can explore their challenges, process emotional pain, and develop healthier coping strategies. Her work goes beyond addressing substance use—it embraces the holistic healing of mind, body, and spirit.

With a deep belief in the power of second chances, Deidre is committed to helping clients rebuild their self-worth and rediscover a sense of purpose. She brings a compassionate, trauma-informed lens to every interaction and is especially passionate about addressing the complex intersection of addiction and mental health.

Deidre ensures that no individual walks their healing journey alone, and her mission is to inspire hope, foster growth, and walk alongside those ready to embrace change.

I bring over 20 years of experience in mental health and crisis services throughout King County. My specialties include crisis management, trauma treatment modalities, and client-centered, solution-focused counseling. I currently lead a mobile crisis team in South King County and have previously served as Clinical Director at a long-term, co-occurring inpatient treatment facility.

My professional background spans community mental health and public health settings, where I’ve provided therapy, case management, and crisis intervention to diverse populations. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) through the Harborview Abuse and Trauma Center.

One of my greatest passions is providing clinical supervision to emerging licensed clinicians. I view this role as both a responsibility and a privilege—offering active listening, ethical guidance, and meaningful support to those pursuing licensure.

I am a Washington State-approved clinical supervisor and meet WAC qualifications as both a Child Mental Health Specialist and a Developmental Disabilities Specialist.
